And finally, a brief piece reviewing and discussing how AZGs fit into the CK signaling scenario in #BiochemSocTrans. For more details, feel free to DM!

In summary, AZGs are not only important for CK transport and its signalling, but they represent hubs for auxin:CK crosstalk at different levels.
And personally it's great to see how the work of so many years is validated by a different approach on the other side of the globeπ
Then, was the time for AZG1. Despite a high level similarity to AZG2, AZG1 has a different mechanism to transport CK. But, what makes AZG1 specially interesting is that its presence is important for the stability of the auxin transporter PIN1.

First, we described that AZG2 can take up CK with high affinity. AZG2 expression is tightly regulated (by auxins π§), being present only in a few cells surrounding lateral root primordia. In these cells, AZG2 activity is important for CK signaling.

This is amazing! Few years back we showed that AZGs transport CKs in Arabidospsis and that they have an special place in the auxin:CK signalling crosstalk. Now, we can see how they do it to the most precise detail ππ± Congrats Xu et al.

I can't think of a more rewarding genetic study. To reconstitute the identity of a person after 46 years, when dictatorship stole babies after disappearing their parents. This happened 132 time already in Argentina thanks to @abuelasdifusion β€οΈ Keep pipetting, go science 𧬠πππΌ
