Of course this lack of accessible community is largely why I moved to Melbourne in the first place (no uni degrees in writing or editing being another major factor), but I really thought in my ten year absence the place would have matured and blossomed a bit, y'know?

i was searching for like an hour before I found about the Hobart LitFest, put on by the Salamanca Arts Centre. which is on THIS WEEKEND. like has no one on this island heard of marketing and publicity??

it's quite bizarre moving from ~Melbourne The City of Literature~ where I studied writing and editing and publishing and could barely take a step without hearing about an arts or literary event... back to Tasmania.

This cat had never met a dog before we moved here, had only lived with one other cat who kept her distance. Now here she is with two doggos around her, and she’s purring away like a tractor.
