๐Ÿ’ธ Healthcare costs are already out of control. We need Congress to lower them, not raise them by taking away Affordable Care Act credits that help 22 million people afford coverage.

The GOP created this #HealthcareHeist, and they can end the shutdown now by fixing their mistake.

This isn't just about numbers. A shrinking workforce makes it harder to sustain programs like Social Security and Medicare. Immigration strengthens Colorado's communities and our economy. We all benefit when everyone has the chance to contribute. ๐ŸŒŽ

GDP = hours worked ร— productivity.
If the labor force shrinks, so does GDP growth.
Without healthy, sustained immigration, the U.S. โ€” and states like Colorado โ€” canโ€™t maintain the growth that funds schools, infrastructure, and vital public services.

Roughly 75โ€“80% of immigrants are between ages 20 and 64 โ€” the core of our workforce.

Meanwhile, the U.S.-born population in that same age range is forecast to shrink every year for the next decade.

The Congressional Budget Office projects U.S. labor force growth of just 0.5% per year through 2035.

By then, immigration will make up 100% of total population growthโ€”and more than 100% after 2031.

Participation rates for adults aged 24โ€“54 are near record highsโ€”people are working!

The challenge isnโ€™t about motivation; itโ€™s about demographics. There are simply fewer working-age people today, especially in rural areas and mountain towns across Colorado.

Historically, our economic growth has come from labor force growth. Between 1948โ€“2007, it surged thanks to:

๐Ÿผ The Baby Boom
๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿผ ๐Ÿ‘ฉ๐Ÿพ Women entering the workforce
๐ŸŒ Steady immigration

Since 2007, the slowdown has come mainly from population aging.

Across the country โ€” and here in Colorado โ€” our workforce is aging fast.

Over the next decade, the number of Coloradans aged 65+ is projected to rise by nearly 30%. Thatโ€™s great news for longevity, but it means fewer working-age adults powering our economy.

The U.S.-born labor force is shrinking โ€” and without continued immigration, we wonโ€™t be able to sustain normal GDP growth.

โ€œNo Tax on Tipsโ€ Is an Industry Plant Trumpโ€™s โ€œpopulistโ€ policy is backed by the National Restaurant Associationโ€”probably because it wonโ€™t stop establishments from paying servers below the minimum wage.

Education Without Exceptions: Protecting In-State Tuition Access in Colorado Explore how federal policy changes threaten in-state tuition access for Colorado students. This Colorado Fiscal Institute report shows how inclusive higher education strengthens the state's economy.

Attacks on immigrant communities are threatening access to in-state tuition in Colorado. Thatโ€™s not just unjustโ€”itโ€™s bad economic policy.

Education Without Exceptions makes the case for protecting higher ed access for all Colorado students.

Essential, Excluded, and Over-Taxed: Immigrant Families Under Attack How the One Big Beautiful Bill Act harms immigrant families, impacting healthcare, taxes, and benefits for essential workers and children.
