Finished Rotigus up!! He was a hoot to paint. I could work on him more, but I think for now, he's good to go!

Do expect some models soon, mostly just typing stuff to help get the brain back on track and it’s generally fun so far, to toy with ideas and thoughts and seeing how to describe them.

Gwyn, Vendrick and many others before you have tried to alter history, halt the Dark, and it’s always going to one day, win.

But your character carries this burden, sometimes with more of world view than others, maybe with more knowledge, maybe with less.

But, Dark Souls is also about hope, and the will to carry on, even when characters die, go hollow or reveal their true colours, does your journey continue, and the hope you may be able to break the cycle, halt the inevitable or pursue a more realistic path.

If it be direct, or the ripples you create, which may have no effects now but the future, it will.

You and Gael fighting in that dying world, on the edge of time, is pointless, neither one truly wins, you are just left wondering, feeling empty and hollow.

You have merely enabled the past, your past to try and not make that mistake, but inevitably Dark Souls is always about a cycle, this future will come to be, through your hands or someone else’s.

The series to me is about the fear of being alone, losing oneself and making the same mistakes.

You victory feels hollow, and it eats away at some players, I know I felt the same.

After fighting Gael and succeeding you are left, alone, in a hollow land.

This captures why I love the Souls series, this epic fight means nothing, it serves no purpose to anyone really, this place is done for.

I’ve been thinking about Dark Souls, mainly 3s “ending” and by ending I don’t mean the Soul of Cinder, but the Ashen One and Gael, fighting the sins of the past, with no clue why, or even what the outcome will be.

You and Gael fighting on those wind swept ashen plains means nothing.

This is part of the lore stuff I would like to do, it isn’t just going to be MH, I do plan other games and characters.

When a hunter slays a Chaotic Gore Magala it isn’t a victory per-say, it’s a mercy kill and this won’t be handed to either side.

A malformed monster, left behind to wither and die while a Mountain God arises, its beautiful golden wings eclipse all those who are deemed unworthy.

A Chaotic Gore Magala for all its failures can still use some of its Shagaru attacks, mixed with the ferocity and the pain of existence and this monster becomes more than just a threat.

It can use the same attacks as it had previous as a Gore Magala and some new more “dangerous” attacks.

This isn’t a metaphorical question, it’s a lament of pain and suffering.
The blades of fate twisted and torn, gouging out scales, flesh and sinew, leaving a husk hell bent on revenge and an end.

A Chaotic Gore Magala in this state enters a agonising battle between themselves and what is ever nearby, they will fight anything of it means their torment ends, or to induce the same pain to others.
Be it human, monster or itself.

This isn’t just a death sentence it leads into chaos.
Madness, pain suffering, anguish, despair, agony and eventually a painful death, either by a merciful and skilled hunter or the pain of what being a malformed monster does.

A Shagaru Magala from Monster Hunter Rise the sunbreak dlc.

When a Gore Magala is ready to moult into a Shagaru Magala it’ll enter a dormant state, like a caterpillar into beautiful butterfly, but this isn’t a guarantee, if it’s slower or there’s a another Shagaru nearby it’ll use its frenzy virus to stop other Gore Magalas from moulting.

When one thinks of a Gore Magala they may think powerful, dangerous and reckless and you aren’t wrong but when you think of a Chaotic Gore Magala you can still think this, but primarily it’s a living failure.

“I can’t believe they are changing the lore, established lore no less”

Such a simple model but sometimes the most simple designs have the most character.

Also this isn’t everything and I probably missed some stuff but yeah, that’s general gist why I like him.

He gives off pirate, raider, rogue which I know his character, but if you don’t know you can get a good idea about his personality and his place in the universe.

I do like his twin shuriken pistols that are tied around his waist again giving off the pirate theme, his “eyepatch” also helps with it.
