Well done! Enforcing self control is one of the hardest things in my opinion.

Like, I still look back and think, what an idiot. That symptom list is fucking insane. But I’m also learning to be kinder to myself. I didn’t understand what was going on and at the time thought I just wasn’t trying hard enough. Turns out I was trying too hard.

2 yrs since I stopped working, I’ve still not returned to my baseline of my original chronic pain. I’m doing most things right, taking care of myself with help of several physiotherapists and pain specialists. My body is slowly unwinding, and I hope I never try to ignore it and push through again.

My burnout featured my body throwing everything at me to try to get me to listen and stop. Pushing through new pain, nausea, vomiting, heart palpitations, fatigue, severe Raynaud’s, brain fog, parathesia, dissociative events causing moments of paralysis & scarily high blood pressure.

I discovered I’d somehow missed my MMR booster (or at least it wasn’t recorded anywhere). The nurse alerted me during a smear test appointment. Mum now has dementia so couldn’t confirm either way and so I got jabbed a few weeks later.
