Good to see the BBC and Met Office fully acknowledging the dangers of climate change. Now to get them to make the links between this and nature decline, inequality and over consumption and weβre onto something.

As a member of the EFRA Select Committee, I questioned whether Thames Water conducted due diligence before accepting investment from Elliott Management, known for acquiring BP and pushing for renewable divestment. This raises serious concerns over Thames Waterβs long-term environmental commitments.

09.04.2025 17:42 β π 88417 π 16314 π¬ 3134 π 836On amendments to the zero emission vehicles mandate, announced today, Shaun Spiers executive director said "The government is right to protect the UK car industry in the face of US tariffs, but China and others are racing ahead in EV production. Long term, these amendments to pro-growth regulations risk hampering competition, pushing up costs by locking families into dependence on expensive petrol vehicles. The only lasting solution is a clear industrial strategy rooted in climate action, to protect UK jobs, and our energy and economic security."
The future of the UK car industry must be electric β or it wonβt have one.
