Started my first large scale plein air painting today. I've been thinking about working larger outside for some time now, so I decided to make it a reality. Layed in the first areas of general colour and plan to return over the course of the next few days to work away on it 🎨 wish me luck!

If I'm in a popular area then people will sometimes approach and ask to see or take photos etc. I'm usually so concentrated that I have to remember to stop and look around. it's really nice to meet people who are enjoying the same environment 😊

Painted the Footbridge at Webster's Falls, Hamilton Ontario today..

Painting in picturesque Paris today.. 29°C no wind but not too bad as it was partly cloudy. I painted into the sun which was an adjustment initially. My concentration was also put to the test as an ice cream truck rolled by a couple of times! 🍦😋🎨

Todays efforts in the studio.. got a ways to go but it's starting to focus now..

Plein air painting at this year's Palette x Palate Festival, downtown Kitchener. Really nice to meet local artists and make some new friendships. We couldn't ask for better weather to celebrate this fantastic local event!

Some paintings are breakthrough paintings. This was one of them. Still wanting to work with this piece but I don't think it would be a good idea as I'd end up killing the spontaneous quality even more than I already have. It was really fun to paint and this one taught me alot.

hiding out in the studio the past few days avoiding the smokey air outside.. right back onto a new one.. mixing up some blues for the backdrop to a new painting this afternoon..
