So I grabbed one of those gummy plastic cone ones from a cheap earring and shoved it onto the screw part of the earring.
Success!
Never moved. Never fell. No threat, no fuss, solution found!

I have never been able to take it off since.

Remember when one bought cheap earrings from Claire's and they all came with those plastic gummy backs? Not the straight cylinder ones, but like the thicker cone shaped ones?
Well, the back on the second earring unscrewed and was lost. I saved the earring, but I needed a replacement back ...

Random question for the Internet because I don't have any idea how to begin to look for solutions.
Context: a long long time ago, I had a pair of earrings that had the screw/twist closures. I lost one because the back unscrewed. The other almost suffered the same fate. However...
