It's funny I have a finished novel that I wrote knowing it was going to be a long shot for pub because it's a big Epic Fantasy book and that, understandably so, is a tough sell, but that's art! I love this book and I know one day others will too. Book 2-3 are going to be more publishable.

I've come to the conclusion my finished novels weakest chapter is, big surprise, the first one. The idea of changing it is rather emotional. It was the first time I ever spoke to the characters I've held in my head for over a decade, my friends. But it must be done #writing #writingcommunity

Writing as a new father has been great! I just come up with an idea, think about it for three months and then.... Think about it some more?

Every time I pivot my life, some CEO start-up comes along with an AI idea to try and make it redundant. Marketing? AI. Writing? AI. Counseling? Believe it or not, they're building an AI. CEOs are pushing for more blue collar jobs now, which will become saturated by younger folk taking their advice.

If I made 250k where I grew up or even where I live now, I'd be more than set. People would def think I pulled a million a year instead, so long as I didn't burn up all my money on a house I couldn't afford.

My final draft had at least three chapters I'd written from different attempts and saved them because I just knew they belonged somewhere! We're all just writing little monster Frankennovels

Superman was great because we need a boy scout. Why do people love compounding a cynical world with more cynicism? Misery loves company but DAMN let's lighten up a little.

That last bit is my exact feeling. People are way too skeptical/cynical to turn on someone they love that fast. If Reps won't turn against Trump, Superman lovers wouldn't turn against him because of a video.

Hearing CEOs talk about how safe blue collar is and that, no, in fact, it's white collar at risk is laughable. Blue collar jobs were already destroyed and sent overseas years ago. If white collar truly does collapse, those with the aptitude will snatch up these supposed trade jobs, devaluing them.

Finished Clair Obscur last night. Definitive GotY. I just don't think anything can beat it out. So incredibly good, and the ending... Just wow.

Just got my first query rejection email and it brightened my mood considerably! I didn't even think they'd look at it tbh. Here's to a hundred more and maybe a yes somewhere down the line. #writingcommunity

Just realized my Anglo-Saxon brain added an a to the end of Clair Obscur on my last two post, I'll repent by enjoying a nice pastry

BG3 was for sure an early indicator, even though it was same same but new, but it had a ton of hype and a strong fandom already so it was primed for success.

Might be too early to say, but Clair Obscura is hopefully an indicator the current wave of nostalgia based entertainment is tapering and people are craving new and fresh again, the Oblivion remaster aside.

Still haven't come to terms with something that just happened in Clair Obscura. I'm in complete denial.
