Screenshot showing a variability of different climate-related graphics for different United States climate change indicators

I'd like to introduce a new page on my website: U.S. climate indicator visuals (zacklabe.com/united-state...).

I only have a few basic variables so far, but I will be expanding this summer to add a range of metrics (e.g., ecological). I welcome suggestions! Hope this is useful, especially nowadays.

🌑️ #ShowYourStripes 🌑️

The science is clear. The world is warming at an alarming rate and Arctic and Antarctic are warming twice as fast, and sometimes faster, than the rest of the planet. These stripes show the stark reality of climate change.

The message? We’re out of time for delay.

A lot of regional variability in the pattern of #Antarctic sea ice concentration anomalies during the last month (May 2025). A particularly notable spot was in the Bellingshausen Sea where there was effectively no ice formation.

Monday ice update - it's the freeze season in the #Antarctic (austral winter), but the rate of sea ice growth has slowed in the last week. This graph is showing the current sea-ice extent anomaly (departure from average).

As a result, the level of services for affected products below will be reduced to Basicβ€”meaning they will remain accessible but may not be actively maintained, updated, or fully supported. This includes Sea Ice Index, Snow Data Assimilation System (SNODAS) Data Products, Glacier Photograph Collection, U.S. National Ice Center Arctic Sea Ice Charts and Climatologies in Gridded Format Gridded Monthly Sea Ice Extent and Concentration, 1850 Onward World Glacier Inventory. If you rely on these products in your work, research, education, or planning, we invite you to share your story at nsidc@nsidc.org.
