People talk about the 300k+ Black women who have lost their jobs as if they are statistics for their research projects and I’m here to remind yall, we are real ass people feeling the effects of it. In our homes, quality of life and well-being.

Forgot to close my trunk all the way yesterday, so now my car won't start. Please just let me need a simple jump cause if it needs more than that...I will slide down every. single. wall.

This is a unique and scary space I'm in right now. I'm not a mom to a young child anymore; they're almost 27.

I'm not a caretaker for my aging parents anymore; they're deceased.

I'm realizing my life has been for everyone else, and not solely for me. Now...it is.

One thing my layoff did for me, outside of shaking me out of being on auto-pilot, is have me really slow down and ask myself "what do you want *your* life to actually look like? sound like? feel like?"

I have an interview tomorrow in a position that I feel I could really...REALLY...grow in. For the first time in a long time, I feel like I can actually grow within a company.

So any prayers/good thoughts are welcomed (I'll circle back and ask tomorrow, too!)
