Something described as a hoax can be both deeply faked but also too light to pay attention too, and that dubious intensity is why I do not trust the word or those who speak it. 'Hoax' in itself is inherently decieving.

It is also ugly to pronounce.

This word isn't used by normal people. I solely see it through centralized media, always using it to cast shadow over something that they need gone.
It's a malformed, relatively recent word, meaning both lighthearted and deep deception, and it carries both these traits-

Again this is technically just all speculation, but its weird to think that injection-molded plastic used in some medical applications is water-reactive to some degree. Also I'm 100% right on this I know it but I don't get to technically say I've proven it. I should show you all sometime.

This is likely due to the nitrile group on the plastic reacting to take a hydrogen from water, which charges the plastic and increases cohesion with water along its surface, enhancing the capillary effect. This effect is seen to be partially reversed with mixing baking soda in water to raise pH.

Fun (probable) Fact: Acrylonitrile butadiene stryene (ABS) plastic, used in some medical devices, is chemically active with water. According to my (very basic) experimentation, the capillary effect increases over time as water is flowed through it
