The Burning of Zozobra Santa Fe, New Mexico Every year on Labor Day weekend, Santa Fe hosts an event that is Epic! The burning of Zozobra! In Spanish, “zozobra” means anxiety/worry/gloom. They build the giant effigy, fill it with worries and anxieties submitted by fans, and burn him down. The crowd chants burn him. There’s lights, fog, a drone show, fireworks, and a booming, groaning voice.

Made not-quite-chef-level ramen. Hoisin/ginger/dark soy sauce marinated pork loin in the crockpot with chicken stock/rice wine vinegar and later with mushrooms/baby bok choy. Topped with shredded carrots/soft boiled egg/chili crunch/green onions/toasted sesame seeds. 🤤🍜 #ramen #homecook #delicious
