Wow. I just found out my former employer in KC is now trying to bully customers that dare criticize them for their lack of knowledge.

KCPD say they are not pursuing charges while acknowledging that the Patriot Front group did illegal things. Why? They did nothing but protect these assholes. So they will be back- because they know KCPD will protect them and assist them in getting out of the city.

I've posted a lot about my former employer. A lot of it is just too long to post here. I should have trusted my gut. He was always a little off to me and I could never put my finger on it. Now I know. The new owner seems to be no better.

R.I.P. Legacy Skates KC...and WTF!

It sounds like from multiple sources he has lost his fucking mind. Since I moved and have been out of the loop I wasn't aware of a lot of it. I'm pretty baffled and am kind of beside myself. When I gather myself I will tell everyone about how I departed from Legacy and what really happened.

I can no longer recommend this shop to anyone in the skating community. Please do me a favor and unfollow them. The former owner Luke Powell has apparently been threatening former employees (although this was never done to my face and I just recently found out about it.)

It's unfortunate that the skate shop I loved and worked so hard for is no more. Technically it's still around but it isn't being run by real skaters. It's being run by an aerobics studio that wanted to jump on the skating fad. The last of the real Legacy crew has left.

My only hope is that the conversation and suggestions help form a new program that truly supports everyone in Virginia when they find themselves without a paycheck through no fault of their own-even if I never benefit from it. I hope I am never in this situation again, but life has its surprises.

Unfortunately the governor we have expects people to pull themselves up by their bootstraps when there are no bootstraps to pull up. So, until he is gone no legislation will be passed to help this situation.

I will find a job that is a good fit- but the job market is brutal and it's going to get worse.

I had a nice long conversation Tuesday with a state representative about Virginia's unemployment system. It needs a major overhaul because it is the worst in the country.

It seems like there are a million people out there ready and willing to tell you what you can't do- but few that want to tell you what you can do. So I continue to advocate for myself even though it's always an uphill battle.

I met with my former coworkers for lunch Saturday. One of them is now a highschool/american government teacher. He's trying to teach kids about our government but because of current events all he can say is "This is how it's supposed to work."
