Incredible season for them. Been following J-League since 2020 so to see them come so far in only 5 years is remarkable.

Kochi United ๐ Ehime FC ๐ Talking football from around the Japanese football leagues.
Incredible season for them. Been following J-League since 2020 so to see them come so far in only 5 years is remarkable.
15.09.2025 10:42 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Arguably one of the craziest! From 14th to 1st is some achievement. Really hope they can do it ๐
15.09.2025 10:32 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Very true ๐ค so hard to choose! I suppose we'll have to see how the final games play out ๐
15.09.2025 10:24 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0Whilst this has certainly been said by many others, this title race really is the best in some time.
So many potential winners, will make for a fascinating final few matchdays.
Pretty remarkable table after matchweek 10 in J1. Not only because both ends have some suprise performers (and non-performers), but also with just how close the league is at this stage.
Only three point separating 1st and 8th! The J-League remains as entertaining as ever ๐
Can't imagine it must've been fun for those poor Matsumoto fans. Great to see Kochi getting some rub of the green, they've impressed me going forward this year. Thought they'd be far more defensive but they're very adventurous. Got their reward today.
05.04.2025 10:10 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Kochi United with a fantastic 5-0 win today over Matsumoto Yamaga.
The team are now up to the dizzying heights of 9th!
Only 3 points off the play-off places now ๐ They can't, can they?
MAKE THAT FIVE GOALS. 5-0 TO KOCHI ๐ณ
Hayato Mizuno now getting in on the action aswell! Incredible!
Kochi United go 4 NIL UP against Matsumoto Yamaga!!
What a performance, Kochi have looked good going forward this season (if a little lacklustre in defence) and that's finally showing its rewards today!
FT Kochi 1-2 Gamba Osaka
Not to be for Kochi this year but a really solid performance, second half was particularly impressive.
Outdone by two moments of quality from Gamba and some unfortunate missed chances.
Can certainly be proud of that performance.
It's Emporer Cup time ๐
Made the two hour trip up to Kochi today.
They face off against Gamba Osaka, on the back of a decent run of performances. Hoping they can cause an upset in this year's competition also.
Two ridiculously good goals from Yokohama Marinos, a lesson in finishing for Gamba who really should have got on the scoresheet at least once today.
What a finish from Uenaka, you won't see many more powerful finishes than that this season.
You have to feel Gamba Osaka will be so disappointed to go into the break a goal down.
Been the better side for entirety of the first half, but poor finishing + a strong performance from Park means they have work to do to turn this one around.
Liking Mitsuta in this team, looks really sharp.
Marinos desperately needed some inspiration from somewhere in this first half. Tono has duly obliged.
A really excellent bit of individual brilliance to give them the lead ๐
They've had a busy and tough start to the season, but there's so much quality in this squad.
Kochi now up to a respectable 13th place with only one defeat from their opening five games, a solid start ๐
15.03.2025 06:00 โ ๐ 2 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Absolutely heatbraking for Kochi United. Kagoshima United score a 95th minute equaliser to deny them a hugely impressive three points.
Would've been an amazing early win against one of the early frontrunners.
Still a great point after falling behind early, but could've been so much more.
STOP THE COUNT
10.03.2025 12:12 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0FT Kanazawa 1-2 Kochi
KOCHI UNITED WIN THEIR FIRST EVER JLEAGUE GAME.
Splendid performance, really dug in and got two goals at the right time.
Kokoro Kobayashi with his second and third goal of the campaign, he continues his good form. If they stay up he'll play a big part.
Great weekend ๐
Yeah that's my main concern, two games and not seen too much going forward. They weren't big scorers last season but their defence was incredible. If they keep that defensive record they stand a hood chance of staying up.
23.02.2025 07:59 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 02-1 Defeat for Ehime FC despite a goal back and a resurgent last 25 mins.
A spirited performance, but that's now 14 games without a win in all comps, stretching back to last August. Pressure building.
For Akita, it means their 100% record continues, and they move up to 5th.
Kochi United get their first ever J League point!
Building from their defeat last week, they fought to a 0-0 draw with potentially fellow relegation candidates Tottori.
Just need a win next week lads ๐
First live game of the season for me today!
Ehime FC against Blaublitz Akita. Very different vibes for both teams.
Ehime lost out to Kataller Toyama last week, a result continuing on from their poor run of form last season.
Toyama grabbed an impressive win over the ambitious Imabari FC.
Oh Se Hun with a big chance!
Best chance of the half so far as the ball is played into him from around 12 yards, but he curls it wide.
FC Tokyo might have felt aggrieved had that gone in after his earlier shove.
Tensions rising in the Tokyo vs Machida game!
Very clear push by Oh Se Hun on Masato Morishige, have to say I think he's lucky to get away with a yellow.
You see plenty of those end in red cards, certainly wants to keep his head to avoid his team going a man down.
One to keep an eye on.
HISTORY MADE ๐
Fagiano Okayama have won in their FIRST EVER J1 League match.
An impressive 2-0 win against a seasoned side in Kyoto Sanga, having been in J1 since 2022.
Tamagi and Kimura with the goals. What a start!
Kochi United's debut on the JLeague stage end in defeat as they lose to newly-relegated Tochigi SC 1-0.
A tough start fixture-wise, but a spirited performance. Still work to do but, all things considered not a terrible start.
They will need to show more in front of goal if they are to stay up.
Cerezo Osaka off to a BLISTERING start to the season so far.
An incredible performance and result on opening derby day ๐คฏ
Definitely a day to forget for Gamba.
That's now FOUR wins from the last five Osaka derbies for Cerezo, a remarkable record.
Have to say the white one will probably be the one I go with, such a clean number.
24.12.2024 09:07 โ ๐ 0 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Confirmed kits for Kochi first ever J3 season. Like the tried and tested green stripe rather than the yellow and black one last year (despite the nice yosakoi reference).
Also love the inclusion of Sakamoto Ryouma on the back, a hugely important historical figure for Japan and Kochi.
Gutted to hear manager Takafumi Yoshimoto has left Kochi United. Local lad and was crucial in the club's rise to J3.
Wishing Yutaka Akita luck as he takes over. Interesting career path with plenty of experience in higher leagues.
Not tons of success but did achieve promotion with Iwate in 2021.
