The Maccabees on reuniting: β€˜There were years when it was like a stranger messaging’ The indie stars talk to Patrick Smith about the celebrity wedding that led to them reforming for Glastonbury and All Points East, rebuilding trust, and why new bands have it so much harder now

I don't know anyone else who can write like this. Some writers you just feel like there's nothing you can do to improve their work. You don't need me at all www.independent.co.uk/arts-enterta...

Don't want to like this as it might look like I'm agreeing your writing is bad (it's anything but!) but I have to so I can find it again to read later

Could Jeremy Corbyn’s new party actually come to Starmer’s rescue? The chaotic launch of Your Party suggests it will be anything but a slick, well-oiled political machine – and hiving off Labour’s hard left might prove beneficial to the government, says Sean O’Grady

Sean O'Grady on YP: 'Corbyn would be the elder statesman: experienced, lost two elections in a row, that sort of thing. Sultana, on the other hand, would represent youth, hope, optimism, and the certainty of losing many more general elections in future' www.independent.co.uk/voices/corby...

Errors and Omissions - A comedy of errors Eleven years ago, Guy Keleny began the column that would become Errors and Omissions. Now, 600 editions down the line, John Rentoul presents a selection of his finest pedantry.

The column has run since December 2000, originally as Mea Culpa, then as Errors & Omissions; I reverted to Mea Culpa when I took over in 2016 www.independent.co.uk/news/media/p...

Not aimed at Jonn at all btw. He just made me think about it. And much of what he says is bang on (again, as usual)

A bit like they took, or take, for granted all the great things Blair did. Somehow it's not enough; maybe it's just a bit boring when things are being done properly.

Very funny as ever. But I will say one thing: I think most people underestimate Starmer. And even when he does something brilliant, with no fuss, each time they still say "Oh but *apart* from that.. ". I think people take him for granted.

Mea Culpa: It’s about time Susanna Richards adjusts the frequency in this week’s Independent

This was the last one. The column has been decommissioned now, and I don't know how to write about anything else, so that's that. I hope it made some of you smile on occasion. www.independent.co.uk/news/correct...
