It is almost black with deep maroon highlights on the body and red-orange sparse hairs on the legs and thick, armored front claws (modified pedipalps). 🐙🌿 Vinegaroons are arachnids that, like the Amblypygid I posted yesterday, look fierce but have no venom and are harmless to people. Also like Amblypygids, the 1st pair of legs is long & thin and used not for walking but as antennae. This one in Arizona recently was big, a couple of inches; here's--
