My latest Stewart, BC postcard acquisition is a good one because it shows a wooden bridge over Rainey Creek (now itโ€™s asphalt with a culvert, but in the same spot) and a 20 mph sign from Canadaโ€™s pre-metric times. This view is coming from the Hyder, AK side ๐Ÿ’•

I have to laugh at myself a little because I have a lot of love I seem to need to print out. This one is very much for my husband to whom I am always saying these two things ๐Ÿ’•

So far, my 2026 printing has been revolving around love (Iโ€™m only five prints in, so that could change). Also, Iโ€™m using an out-of-the-package, untrimmed-by-me, letter-size, index-card-weight paper that Iโ€™m really digging ๐Ÿ’•

My latest (nonprinting) obsession is listening to KCRWโ€™s Vintage24 station. Itโ€™s all rebroadcast music programming from their analog days and is a needed departure from the nonstop onslaught of current events ๐Ÿ’•

I told my mom that my husband thinks sheโ€™s a secret survivalist and she texted me back saying that one of the influencing events for that was sewing doggie booties for the 1974 Iditarod ๐Ÿ’•

(Sheโ€™s not secret about it; she is a woman who likes to be full-on prepared for emergencies and disasters ๐Ÿ’•)

I have used 6x9โ€ envelopes to send folded letterpress items (sometimes just done on printer paper). That envelope size (non-rigid) is the largest that still requires only one regular stamp which makes it a size I love very much. And it feels a bit sturdier to me than a #10 envelope. ๐Ÿ’•

I really, really, really want to print but itโ€™s +23F outside right now and I can hear birds chirping. Even the intense desire to put ink on paper canโ€™t make me stay inside today. Oh, itโ€™s so glorious. The way-below-zero temps arenโ€™t over, but right now I will celebrate ๐Ÿ’•

Working on my first print of the year. The third layer is yet to be determined. My goal for 2026? Be the love I wish to see (and be).

Iโ€™m using new paper this year and a different size. Iโ€™ve gone from 6x8โ€ to 8.5x11โ€. Weโ€™ll see how it goes. Letterpress journaling in Alaska continues๐Ÿ’•

Arrived home from Juneau trip last night to a frozen bathhouse and -55F temps. Today is looking up with -20F and a Costco taco platter. Juneau was fun, even if the massive snowfall had mostly shut everything down. My mom brought me a suitcase of goodies from Reno & it felt damned good to hug her ๐Ÿ’•

And now everyone is starting to disperse to their cars (and not back into the building). I think Iโ€™m ready for my Juneau adventures to stop. Although this is still preferable to the -40 weโ€™ve got back home right now.

Mom arrived in Juneau. Saw my first โ€˜daily printsโ€™ poster in the wild. Set up maybe 1/10th of the show. Ham is in the oven. Kicked Mikeโ€™s butt at cards. Ready for 2026. Happy New Year!

Instead of spending the night in Seattle and flying into Juneau tomorrow, mom is headed to Anchorage tonight and then Juneau tomorrow. Oof. Thatโ€™s a looooong two days. Sheโ€™s says itโ€™s better than sitting at home, though, so I canโ€™t complain with her head space ๐Ÿ’•

Such a crazy time to be in Juneau. Set up for my show is postponed until tomorrow (at least). Many places are closed. Walking around is nearly impossible. But to have hot running water, a washer and dryer, and an indoor toilet? I donโ€™t care the weather, itโ€™s heaven. And my mom flies in tonight ๐Ÿ’•

I was super surprised we were able to fly into Juneau yesterday. Iโ€™m glad for the snow, though. Itโ€™s such a reprieve from the way-below-zero weather weโ€™ve been having in Kenny Lake. What does one do on a snowy Sunday in Juneau? Hopefully it includes making snow angels ๐Ÿ’•
