Oof. Finding a letterpress-worthy paper & a supplier that will ship to Alaska via USPS has been a huge time suck. Even after finding a great paper that will ship USPS, it’s been hard to get people to get back to me. I might just order a decade’s worth of paper and be done with it 🤣💕

Twelve years ago I sent a class of my students around to the grocery stores in Bozeman, Montana to price a list of items they felt everyone should be able to afford (it was a special topics class on food insecurity). I wonder how these prices compare with today’s Bozeman (or Kenny Lake & Glennallen)

I sing that jingle to my husband sometimes (I like to over repeat that I will stand upon my head until my ears are turning red). He thinks I’m nuts, but I don’t care. Maybe next time I’ll say cow instead and up the fun ante 🤣💕

Keeping up with a website steals Saturdays. I try to upload the latest of my ‘daily prints’ in a timely manner, but it takes away time & effort I need to be able to cook delicious meals, deal with trash & actually make prints. It’s helping procrastinate against writing my artist statement though🤣💕

I have a show in Juneau January-March (Davis Gallery in Centennial Hall), so I’m printing a few styles of greeting cards to have for sale. All my ideas for what to print have to do with love; I’m not sure if that’s a good idea or not. Love rules my life but I also know it can be 🤮

Friday, October 17, 2025, 10:50 am, close to Mile 4, Old Edgerton Highway, Alaska— I’m seeing the first flakes of the season floating down around the cabin. Hello, Winter 💕

Hahahah. I do this too 💕

It’s 42F outside and verrrrry rainy. Hubs is in the thick of it starting the build that will become our cabin’s new arctic entryway, which will also have a sink and new studio corner for me. Yay, but I’m really looking forward to the house build and finally having my own darkroom facilities 💕

The full moon from the other morning was so lovely and so peaceful. Fall is still with us in Kenny Lake, Alaska, and I hope it stays awhile longer. I’m not yet ready for snow 💕

I don’t update my website as often as I probably should but that doesn’t really matter. What matters is I updated it today with my most recent prints. And I can see that in the link image, I have Hyderites cut off and should fix that at some point 💕

At least it’s sour cream and not mayonnaise 😂

For years I thought that someone would steal this sign before I’d be able to take it. Thanks to good friends and the owner of the building who raised no fuss about my having the sign, the Dean’s Groceries sign has travelled north from Hyder, Alaska, to be with me in Kenny Lake. Hallelujah 💛🧡💛

The Dairy Queen in Palmer offers half off on shakes and malts from 2-5 M-F. This was discovered by accident, a very happy accident 💕

While we were in Hyder earlier this month, my husband took the Dean’s Groceries sign off the building. My oldest childhood Hyder friend brought the sign back to Kenny Lake for me. I grew up in this once-was-a-baptist-church building and my dad was Dean 💛

Yay! What a fantabulous piece of awesomeness. Congrats! :)

And then your husband starts acting like a moose to try and bring it back 🤣♥️♥️♥️

When a totally legal, beautiful moose walks right in front of you and across your property and you have not camera, not gun, nor hunting license…. 🙄
