Somewhere in the past year "second order consequences" entered the lexicon of the frequently online and I am nominating it as this year's "media literacy".

I think my future computer setuo will be a gaming pc running linux connected to the internet and a work pc running windows 10 and entirely disconnected from the internet. At least untill all my work can be done on linux.

There is something to it being easy to rebutte if one is innocent, but it would be annoying to stream just to prove one's own innocence and I think there is a risk a lot of people only see the accusation and not the proof to the contrary.

I really worry about who is going to catch the first big, false accusation of AI use and suffer for it.

At least it wasn't a ladder on a forklift this time.

I think of everything I played last year Look Outside is my game of the year and is up there for all time. Themes, art, systems, I love basically every element of it. Everyone should play it.

Novel is now over 60k words. I think I know how to land this ship now, which wasn't the case for a week or two there. Writing without a plot outline comes more naturally to me, but it does come with the risk of having no clue what the ending will actually be or how to get there.

Sometimes it still surprises me that certain corners of the internet are a small world. People have been able to recognize me from my old persona in the past, but more recently folks have read my novel chapters and realized I also did Overstay despite finding the novel independently.

In my experience going to tournaments Warhammer players have pretty good hygiene, but in a large enough sample there will be a potential bad apple.

Comics are a lot more immediately appealing though and getting people in the door to read something is a bigger ask for a novel. It is interesting how things like blocking a scene are still the same in a lot of ways in the different mediums.

Writing a novel vs writing a comic is such a nice change of pace. I have lots of space to just have a character think about why he's doing something vs feeling it is hard to spend more than a page doing that amount of content.
