Unconfirmed, but if this is true it's despicable and we need answers and accountability.

If anyone has any more information on this please share in the comments.

One of several work sites today. Seems calm in a snapshot, but the pond is teeming with life. Blue-spotted salamanders, boreal chorus frogs, several crayfish species, and a thriving abundance of macroinvertebrates. Looking forward to seeing how it changes day by day.

Emerald ash borer is my Roman Empire. I will always wonder what our wetlands looked like before we lost our ash and reed canary came in.

It was a trick, not a search for middle ground. The ref question seems like good sense until you realize it's already the law, and this now allows a bozo gerrymandered legislature the ability to mess with the state constitution.

Controlling what I can in my corner of the world. The frogs are quiet but they are still in the ponds.

I mean, people did take the time. I'm in WI, and a lot of local orgs, newspapers, radio stations, and state reps did a great job providing info. Even had two different canvassers come to my home to explain it.

I texted friends and family to see if everyone is ready to vote April 1st (WI supreme court) and to see who might need a ride/ help registering.

I will work on my budget after work and see what funds I have for mutual aid this week.

Went birding. Lots of weird ducks on Lake Michigan right now. Dorothy Sayers said it best- "how fleeting are all human passions compared with the massive continuity of ducks."

Snow day after 62 degrees on Saturday. White-winged scaups, goldeneyes, and tons of red breasted mergansers on Lake Michigan today. One confused song sparrow and killdeer disappointed to be back early.

Judge 'chews out' DOJ lawyer for not reading report justifying new military move: report Judge Ana C. Reyes began the Wednesday hearing over President Donald Trump's ban on transgender people in the military by asking specific questions about the report cited as justification by Secretary...

Reyes began by reading the ban language: "Transgender troops are disqualified from service without an exemption."

The Justice Department lawyer said Hegseth was using a kind of "shorthand" and didn't quite mean the ban as written.

Judge didn't buy it.

It is a scene of a forested wetland in spring. In the foreground is an ephemeral pond, darkened by tannins in the leaf litter. In the background we can see mature trees, the base of their trunks submerged in the water.

Snowfall in WI was disappointing this year, but today's rains are encouraging. Hopefully enough to bring the wetland critters out of the duff layer and into the ephemeral ponds soon.

Why won't Democrats fight for their base instead of trying to appeal to people that hate them? Sticking in the center is why dems keep losing.
