I have come to the realization that #dnd does not have enough dinosaurs

Player: "I cast Catapult to launch a brick at the Rakshasa. DEX save, please."

DM: "Alright, but it auto-saves against all spells."

Player: "It's not dodging a spell, it's dodging a brick."

DM: "...Fair."

Being a DM is weird. The whole game is talking, but the best parts are when you sit back, shut up, and watch your players talk amongst themselves.

DM Tip: If you have multiple players with a shared secret related to their backstories, make sure they're on the same page regarding how and when it will be revealed to the rest of the party.

Get confused reading percentile dice? Try the 2d20 method!

Roll a d20, divide the result by 4 and round up, then multiply that by 20, roll another d20 and add that to your total, then subtract 20.

Easy!

A horrifying creature emerging from the waves, among swarms of ocean zombies. The creature looks like a man riding a horse but is a single entity. Both the horse and human faces look like skills, and a single blue eye burns in the horse's forehead. The creature has no skin and is all visible muscle.

The Nuckelavee - CR 14 Folklore Demon

A terrifying creature from Scottish folklore that emerges from the sea to spread plague through coastal towns. The fused body of a man and horse, entirely lacking skin.

Our suggestion: run away.
