I seem to have a habit of only getting around to playing certain big games just before their sequel comes out, and I always feel a little guilty when I wind up loving it and then don’t have to wait at all to see what took the devs 5+ years to cook.

Champion new games that genuinely innovate.

Support communities for older games you think more people should know about.

Do something that’s positive for the art form instead of just negativity and buzz words.

The sad thing is that I think a counter-culture awards show in opposition to Geoff Keighley’s AAA-friendly brand would actually be healthy for the industry, but it absolutely can’t be a show whose entire existence is built around shitting on and harassing those you disagree with.

Shoutout to my fellow 2010’s era gaming YouTubers that gracefully accepted our time in the algorithm’s spotlight was over, as opposed to selling their souls to the angry right-wing grift train.
