We're experiencing an unbelievable deluge of submissions. At our journal we got ~200 per year in 2020. Last year it was 600. This year it's 800 with several months to go. So that's why we're slower to get stuff out for review.

I wrote a notebook for a lecture/exercice on image generation with flow matching. The idea is to use FM to render images composed of simple shapes using their attributes (type, size, color, etc). Not super useful but fun and easy to train!

Banking on AI is just a bad business decision, whether you're an administrator or a student in higher education. It will be like having HTML or Microsoft Word on your resume. It probably already is.

What happened?
Everyone suddenly knew HTML. It ceased to differentiate you in the marketplace. It was like saying you knew how to use email. You couldn't really build a career on it.
