At my age, I’m somewhere in between hardcore and grandma core.

I can't really justify/afford going on holiday for my week off, so I'm instead staying in bed and watching films.... Today is a Claire Denis day, starting with Beau Travail (1999).

I knew this would be the cost of my weekend, and the only reason I went out twice was because I knew I had this week off work to recover.

It's genuinely hard to explain the post socializing fatigue - partly from autism and partly from CFS. It is like a hangover, but duller pain and partly like getting-out-of-a-swimming-pool heaviness throughout my body. #chronicillness #spoonies

I also socialized twice on the weekend, so predictably, I am now bed bound for a day or two due to no spoons.

The movie *sort of* hints that the bourgeois are exploiting him also, but this critique comes from outside the film and not within it. The film's largely uncritical of the medical voyeurism that Treves initiates, or all the theatre people who show up.

Hot take that's been on my mind: I don't really like the Elephant Man. The class politics are really cackhanded and offensive. The working class are portrayed as mindless drunken baddies, whilst the middle class are nuanced, kind, empathetic.

Sunday morning in bed + Ealing comedies. Is there any more iconic a duo? I don't care how sunny it is, I'm cosy in bed with knitting, coffee and Whiskey Galore (1949).

My knitting has been interrupted again because of bad shoulder goings on and I hate it. Considering buying a bunch of embroidery stuff so that I don't lose my mind completely (craft=good mental health for me).

Late to the party, just watched THE SUBSTANCE. Holy shit. What a masterpiece. It goes hard.

Internet 1.5 got me DEEP into zines, craft, craftivsm, veganism, hardcore punk, anarchism, communism — basically all the tastiest and best parts of who I am.

Side note: there should be some kind of internet 3.0 Detective Agency who tracks down old pals from MySpace or Blogger or wherever, the people who used wild usernames never to be repeated and who then vanished when the platforms did.

I miss the old internet. Kinda Internet 1.5…. the internet of forum boards, RSS feeds, blogs, my Google reader that was honed and finesse to perfection according to my hyperfixations of the month.
