The award for dirtiest app on my phone for tracking attempts goes to The Home Depot app, with a total of over 2500 attempts blocked over the course of 3 days.

This portrait isn't complete without noting that millions cheered it all. That’s part of the tragedy. The regime didn't arise in a vacuum. It was a mirror — ugly, cracked, and painfully accurate — of deep fractures in American society.

Trump’s presidency was not merely controversial. It was oppressive. It unleashed forces that outlasted his time in office, corroding faith in institutions, dividing families, and destabilizing norms that once held.

Pardons were handed out like favors to cronies — even convicted war criminals and loyal political operatives.

Corruption and Self-Enrichment-
Meanwhile, the regime enriched itself. Trump never divested from his businesses, instead funneling taxpayer money into his properties. Foreign governments rented rooms at his hotels. Allies were rewarded, critics punished.

Over 1 million Americans died from COVID, many misled by his downplaying of the virus, his snake-oil cures, and his refusal to model even basic public health behavior. Disinformation became a governing strategy — chaos, a tool.

The War on Truth-
Trump’s war on the press was relentless. He called journalists "the enemy of the people." He normalized conspiracy theories, promoted QAnon, and smeared scientists and doctors during a once-in-a-century pandemic.

They called for the execution of his own Vice President. And Trump? He watched it unfold, gleefully, for hours, refusing to intervene. That day was the closest the U.S. has come to a coup in modern history.

Courts rejected his dozens of lawsuits. His own Justice Department found no fraud. But he pressed on.-
Then came January 6, 2021. A mob of his supporters, fed lies and fury, stormed the Capitol. They beat police with American flags. They smeared feces on walls. They built gallows.

Attack on Democracy-
Perhaps the greatest atrocity was the assault on democracy itself. Months before the 2020 election, Trump preemptively called it rigged. After losing, he refused to concede. Instead, he launched a scorched-earth campaign of lies, the “Big Lie” , claiming the election was stolen.

This wasn’t a dog whistle. It was a bullhorn. Hate crimes surged. White nationalists felt emboldened. Trump, far from condemning them, offered winks, nods, and retweets.

Sure compared to crimes against humanity. Some of those children remain separated from their parents to this day.

Charlottesville was a watershed — when he said there were "very fine people on both sides," even after a neo-Nazi murdered Heather Heyer during a white supremacist rally.

Racial Division and White Supremacy-
The regime thrived on division. Trump demonized immigrants, calling them rapists, criminals, and animals. He caged children, separating them from their families in border detention centers under a policy that critics — including UN officials...

Experts purged, inspectors general dismissed, and federal agencies hollowed out, replaced with yes-men and sycophants. He didn't govern so much as command, using Twitter like a scepter — attacking enemies, issuing decrees, stoking rage.

The Cult of Personality-
From the outset, Trump fashioned the presidency into a brand — not of the nation, but of himself. His name became inseparable from truth, even as he told over 30,000 documented lies during his time in office. The machinery of the state was bent toward personal loyalty.

Imagine a stage shrouded in red, white, and blue — but the colors are faded, stained with tear gas, blood, and the flicker of disinformation. At its center, a gilded podium stands like a throne, and behind it, Donald J. Trump raises a fist not in solidarity but in supremacy.
