That is an absolute classic episode from a kind of uneven, but fascinating season. The previous season with the very postmodern introduction of Dawn and death of Buffy is the most beloved to me.

The hopeless teens in this episode of 'Buffy' are calling vampires 'The Lonely Ones,' and the way things are going this may lead to a song (God help me.)

I wish you all the confidence of Chuck E. Cheese, whose middle initial stands for 'entertainment.'

I literally just had a moment of jealously seeing that Paddington was going to Peru and I haven't left the country since 2015.

I love this Lou Reed quote from '67 as a kind of anti-thesis to Leonard Cohen's famous line 'There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.'

It's classic Reed nihilism and half-nonsense, but having to drag yourself out of a dark hole— Reed understands— is a form of grace in itself.

I am trying to post nice and pleasant and demure things here cuz that seems to be the vibe, but I'm really more comfortable posting depressed haikus and non-sequiturs about pizza like I did on twitter in 2014.

I visited my old hometown mall today and was pleased to see that instead of falling into liminal disuse and decay, it was doing ok— mainly by catering to the large Asian population at nearby Stony Brook University. Some amazing looking shops, restaurants and bubble tea.

Malty goodness.

I have, for no discernible reason, started drinking Ovaltine.

My parents left 3 OxyContin in their empty condo I am house sitting, and it feels like a sting.

Stick together and keep looking after each other folks.

There are some hard times ahead. Things we've been worried about for quite a while seem to be unfolding/accelerating before our eyes.

And suffering— no matter how far away— always makes its way to us in time.

One of the strangest and most comforting things I've ever discovered is that dressing like a British aristocrat on a hike is also a thing, a look in Palermo, so even when I'm being a pretentious oddball, I'm still being a Sicilian pretentious oddball.
