They have apparently decided it is acceptable to shield bigots and bullies from the consequences of their actions. I won't tell anyone where to spend their money but maybe keep it in mind for next time you want to buy RPG books.

Got an e-mail from drivethrurpg telling me I had to edit a review where I called a writer out on his transphobic behavior. Apparently you can't do that on drivethrurpg and the good people there would like us to know that we are not allowed to say such things about creators.

My sympathies to her, that must've been difficult. I know I was sure frantic looking for Peaches that day and so relieved when we realized where she was.

The cat had clawed through the bottom of the couch and hidden inside it.

I was only moving up one floor so the movers just transported cat and couch upstairs while I walked along behind them ready to grab her if she made a dash for it, but she didn't and was deposited in her new home safely.

My favorite 'Cat gets in where they shouldn't' moment still remains when I was moving and could not find my cat anywhere when the movers came. We looked through the whole place and finally I told the movers to get started. They picked up a couch and I heard an indignant "MEOW!" from inside it.

I remember when I was trying to get assistance for my disability (advanced nervous system motor dysfunction) and my counselor told me it wouldn't be a problem because "It's not like you're REALLY disabled or anything". That was the kind of treatment and support I got.

Feel better. Curl up, put something comforting on streaming, and hope it ends easily

Especially point 3. as a kid growing up with undiagnosed ADHD I found comics so much easier to read. I grew up on my brothers @2000ad.bsky.social comics and my other brothers JLA and Excalibur comics. and it was the best :)

Hey, nothing wrong with that! I run five weekly games, mostly D&D at the moment but I also play a couple of solo games and run a Vaesen game.

I think if you're at a con or operating under similar time pressure then yeah, absolutely, but running a game with your friends at home? There's nothing that says you HAVE to do things within a certain amount of time, it's okay to give them...and yourself...more leeway to be creative.

I don't really agree. I mean...maybe that was the original idea, but the whole point of RPGs in general is that you take ideas and you run with them and do what YOUR group enjoys.

If I want to run a mini-campaign of Honey Heist involving a syndicate of criminal bears...why not?

I hear you...honestly I've found it hard especially since the pandemic. I run five weekly D&D games, been running D&D for over 30 years, and lately I've just been struck with this crippling feeling of imposter syndrome that I've actually been doing it wrong all this time. Good luck!

I would have to say imagination. In my experience, those who lack imagination might join the hobby and try it out for a bit, but they won't stay because they won't get much out of the game.

We travel to whole new worlds totally in our minds and create people who are so real to us. Imagination.

God, I hear that and I've caught myself doing it a few times myself. Trying to check that impulse.

Also started a new Ravenloft campaign on Sunday! First session went really well and the players had a blast.

Monday was good though, the PCs slew the evil dryad and rescued the townsfolk, though due to bad rolls it was almost a complete botch...the fight ended with one character unconscious and the other only conscious because he rolled a nat 20 on one of his death saves and got up with 1 hp.

Ugh, all my games getting canceled this week just about, though we got to play on Sunday and Monday. I know I shouldn't complain as that's as much (or more) than a lot of people get to play but I've had most of my activities canceled this week for one reason or another. #ttrpg #d&d
