Are your students using studyapps? There are plenty out there teaching them the wrong content... My thoughts on the one most aggressively marketed right now (MedlyAI)

06.11.2025 07:39 β π 6 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0I have posted key topics for Edexcel Paper 2 but not been able to do AQA as I haven't seen the papers. I can do this tomorrow still if anyone has a copy but otherwise not a lot I can do I am afraid.

Key topics for Edexcel Foundation Paper 2. I don't have the higher paper or any for AQA yet.

By "early" I mean promptly after the exam has been sat, not before it...obviously!!
02.11.2025 18:13 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I am happy to analyse the GCSE papers in the coming week and suggest key topics for paper 2/3. This will depend entirely on if I can get eyes on a paper so no promises. Given the very short period between each paper, it might not happen. If you know you will have access to a script early, DM me.

Hi, I write them all myself.
04.10.2025 21:38 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0#MathsToday I had to talk to students (again) about why trusting AI to do their homework is not a good idea. 2nd time I have caught it out in a week.
#Maths teachers using online hwk platforms, what do you do about this?
Good starter for discussion. What is wrong with this chart? @martinlewis.moneysavingexpert.com
30.09.2025 19:33 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My daughter is doing her Sparx and she just spotted the Chrome now offers in-built AI homework cheating (see button at the top right - takes you straight to AI tools that answer the question for you). FFS.

Most likely plug some GCSE gaps first then maybe mechanics.
03.09.2025 20:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Did you know I've been working on A-level content? I've managed to cover all of year 1 statistics now including in depth videos (a little over 6 hours worth), exam questions and solutions on each topic (117 full exam questions in total). All free, of course.

30.06.2025 20:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Don't teach Pythagoras because you might not use it as an adult but teach Henry VIII because you personally enjoy teaching it. Do you agree? www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAKT... #MathsToday #UKMathsChat
30.06.2025 13:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Yes I think whilst some are clued up, plenty of teachers have never even open TikTok (understandably!)
21.06.2025 21:54 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We can do more and it would start with people accepting the issue. Unbelievable amount of so called "leaders" on twitter refusing to accept there is a problem. When people are saying it is the student's fault for being confused or misled then they are part of the problem. Actual teachers too.
21.06.2025 18:39 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I don't disagree either but I don't believe most teachers are really aware of the extent of what is going on. Unfortunately for me, TikTok thinks I am in Y11 so I see it constantly and it is bleak!
21.06.2025 18:38 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Companies are profiting (quite literally hundreds of thousands) by lying to kids saying they know what will come up. They are so misleading and under immense pressure, the most vulnerable students fall victim. Happy to share several videos/ads/accounts with you privately to show you.
21.06.2025 15:52 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0We have heads of department labelling students as βstupidβ for falling for these but the reality from a childβs perspective is this appears on their feeds over and over again. I see the same content and it is aggressive and persuasive. Predicting itself isnβt the issue, itβs the way it is presented.
21.06.2025 15:46 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I donβt think that is suggested at all. There is more to the article than the headline. Despite some maths teachers wanting to bury their head in the sand on this and deny itβs a problem, it is a huge issue. Guidance and advice from teacher is key but that coming directly from JCQ will help too.
21.06.2025 15:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0I think you may have misunderstood the article.
