There are pros and cons. I used ChatGPT to assist in breaking down topics I didn't fully understand (like a tutor) and highlighting errors in my code when it wouldn't run.

Fwiw, I encourage my students to use AI for drafting, brainstorming, topic summarization, spell check, and grammar but always enforce that it's not a replacement for research or their own voice or viewpoints.

Please describe the hoops you're referring to. I hope it's not actively learning your future profession or how to properly construct discussions to inform or persuade an audience based on research performed by experts.
