There's just no way this works like it did for ye old web1, web2 websites.

I believe technically you can run an AI like chat gpt on that same hosting. It won't be anywhere near as powerful, it'll be slow and only 1 person will be able to use it at a time.

If you want to host it properly, it'll be 10 times the cost and you might be able to have 10 users.

You might be able to cover the cost of hosting with ads. Or maybe user donations or if it's a saas app monthly donations. And you'll probably be able to grow.

I've been messing around with running AI on my laptop over the weekend and it's so fucked.

You could host a traditional web site or saas site on the equivalent of my laptop for say $50 bucks a month. You'd be probably be able to have at least 50 concurrent users. Maybe more with caching.
