I didn’t always agree with #DickCheney (especially re torture) but he always stood by his principles & did what he believed would keep America safe, in Congress, DoD & White House. And that’s why—despite being a lifelong Republican—he denounced Trump and supported & voted for Kamala Harris in 2024.

Dictators and monarchs have always put themselves on coins while alive, going back to the Roman Empire. This is literally and figuratively Un-American.

I was not a fan of #CharlieKirk or many of the ideas he stood for, but unlike many, he was always willing to engage in civil debate. Political violence should NEVER be a response to disagreement in a democracy. Americans across the political spectrum should denounce his assassination, as do I.
