Just checked and Trakt does have its own recommendations. But there are better recommendation sites like couchmoney that do a better job apparently.

The Showly app doesn't, it just does logging. I did some digging and Trakt plus couchmoney.tv seems like a good way to get recommendations.

Trakt is great but not used as much as letterboxd for community reviews. There are lots of third party apps that integrate Trakt. For instance I love using Showly on android.
