The more I have become immersed in Mahler’s symphonies over the years the more brightly the mighty Eighth has shone. Edward Gardner’s quite stupendous theatrically immersive ‘staging’ @LPOrchestra @southbankcentre was right up there. Thrilling. Moving. Visionary.

ALL THE COLOURS OF THE DARK by Chris Whitaker. Quite the best novel I’ve read in a very long time. A rich, poetic epic full of heart and beauty. Magnificent.

LIZ CALLOWAY @LizGoesOn @CrazyCoqs A cabaret masterclass. So many highlights… but ‘The Story Goes On’ from Maltby and Shire’s BABY floored me. @TheoJamieson was his usual one- man-band thrilling. Special.
