I think the only times I bake now are when colleagues guilt trip me into it. Anxiety reigned and so we’re swimming in salted caramel basque cheesecake from Ruby Bhogal’s excellent cookbook. Actually excited to bake it again tomorrow as the test run was so easy!

Indian food can be quite misunderstood. It isn’t a monolith despite what Western culture has reduced it to. India’s huge; culture and cuisine varies greatly state to state.
Tonight was reminiscent of Mughal era cuisine: Meera Sodha’s baked butter paneer and maharani rice. So delicious! #indianfood

Have you tried Georgian food? It’s addictive 😳 while everyone loves the iconic Acharuli khachapuri (the bread boat filled with melted cheese, topped with egg yolk and butter), I find Imeruli khachapuri deserves love too!
We visit Kartuli in Dulwich- best we’ve had in London. Highly recommend 10/10.

One of the real problems is that too many people conveniently believe the opposite of diversity is merit, and the opposite of inclusion is high standards.
Yeah, that’s just not the case.

There’s very few strategies that might work to keep ourselves mentally healthy over the next 4 years. Ignoring the news just makes it hit harder when you do see it; pretending it’s happening elsewhere doesn’t work either because their decisions have repercussions for the whole world.

A satirical illustration from the cover of Charlie Hebdo. It features Donald Trump sitting prominently in a suit, holding a red carpet beneath him, which extends towards caricatures of far-right figures representing countries like Italy, France, and others. The title reads: "Trump: Tapis Rouge pour les Fachos" (Trump: Red Carpet for the Fascists). The design uses bold colors—red, white, and blue—symbolizing a critical take on authoritarianism and far-right ideologies.
Here is this week's bold cover of Charlie Hebdo! ✒️🕊️📰

If people in society focused just a fraction of accumulated knowledge towards helping others grow, we could make such a huge step towards inclusivity. Knowledge already attained doesn’t cost you anything to share. Helping someone on their path doesn’t mean opportunities are taken from you. (2/2)

Mentoring for the first time today was incredible. I felt a real sense of achievement and hope for these people willing to seek out knowledge to develop themselves. It also made me realise unless learning opportunities are democratised, those who need it most are the ones who have least access.(1/2)

Interesting how they put meritocracy and DEI at odds with one another when meritocracy has never been about who’s actually capable of doing the job, just who they thinks merits the opportunity.
Agree with an earlier point too that this includes disabled and neurodivergent people as well.

Having sworn off all social media except IG a few years back due to the trending toxicity, it’s nice to see a community that appears to value discussion over dissection. Let’s hope it stays that way!
