Your curation of the shows is wonderful! Always something for everyone

This week's playlist is 'love'ly

Shani Wallis and Ivor Emmanuel in A Time for Singing.
Meanwhile in NY, Shani Wallis's performance in A Time for Singing, a 1966 flop musical adaptation of How Green Was My Valley got her the role of Nancy in Oliver! (she played the same role Maureen O'Hara played in the film)
A Time for Singing lasted 41 performances.
17-year-old Sheila White so impressed the creatives of the 1966 British musical On the Level that they wrote a charm song for her and it proved an enormous showstopper.
On the Level lasted 118 performances, but "Bleep-Bleep" led directly to Sheila getting cast as Bet in the film version of Oliver!
Yet another grey and wet day outside. What's needed is an hour of fantastic songs from stage and screen to brighten things up a bit.

If you like musicals, you’ve got to give Showtune a listen. The best mix of show songs out there!

A selection of shows that opened in May in years gone by:
I’ll REMEMBER HER
by Noel Coward
from ‘The Girl Who Came To Supper’
From #TheShowsWeUsedToKnow at Crazy Coqs
Great mix and the perfect start to the day. Thank you for playing the Witches of Eastwick - maybe some more of that? Or a classic Fred Astaire number? Something from Top Hat?
18.05.2025 14:13 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0UNROMANTIC US
by Sandy Wilson
from ‘The Buccaneer’
A rare outing for Wilson’s follow up to The Boy Friend.
LONDON (IS A LITTLE BIT OF ALL RIGHT)
by Noel Coward
From ‘The Girl Who Came To Supper’
As sung by music hall star Tessie O’Shea in her Tony-winning performance!
SOMEONE TO BELIEVE IN
by Julian Slade
From ‘Vanity Fair’.
One of his best songs, from a now almost completely forgotten show.
