In 2023, the District and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (“Metro”) piloted free and discounted fares for low-income residents. They found that discounts increased public transit use and well-being.

This video makes it clear that many federal agents aren’t stopping residents based on warrants or reasonable suspicion — they’re abducting people based on racial profiling and only then releasing them once their status is verified.

This is blatantly unconstitutional.
