Couldnβt agree more. I keep a couple of the books in my nightstand.
#kidlitchat
I read a lot of Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. Also Charlotteβs Web and Willy Wonka.
Calvin and Hobbes was still a few years away so the Doonesbury was a favorite.
#kidlitchat
Calvin and Hobbes rock!

Unapologetically read what gives you joy and strength and ignites a fire inside. Arm yourself with facts, with stories, with possibilities. There are those who donβt want you to know all you can be. Who want to imprison you with woe. They want you small. Devour words and build to dizzying heights.

They would love to see you stop by and renew your library card.
Thanks to everyone at #kidlitchat for the inspiration and recharging tonight. I have many tools in my box now! And thanks to @bonnieadamson.com and @gregpincus.bsky.social for their commitment every week.

Music is absolutely inspiring. The story they can tell through a song is phenomenal.

Yes, yes, yes!
#kidlitchat
You are sooooooo right π
#kidlitchat
I will read and read, then read some more. I get recharged/inspired by all the good books out there.

Super-Simple is relative. Just looking at the strawberry design puts this in a Masters Class for me β but it does look delicious!!!

Those were awesome cartoons, so out of the box!

I tend to write in first person. It is easier and more natural for me. As far as reading, it doesnβt matter. A good story keeps me glued to the pages.

I highly recommend working with Alison. Her knowledge and insight is phenomenal and took my work to another level!

Me too. I will never submit some work, but I still keep them around for ideas. Funny on how this was a topic for this week as yesterday I looked at some decades old work to see if they could be useful in my current WIP.

A shoutout to Alison Weiss @alioop7.bsky.social for her perceptive comments on my manuscript. It was a pleasure to work with her and she is extremely insightful. I am excited to incorporate her suggestions and highly recommend Alison for editorial work. You will not be disappointed.
