Colourful terracotta pot painted with ochre, red & blue swirly flowers. In the pot is a small Rosa x odorata ‘Bengal Crimson’ - wavy slender stems & darling tiny rosebuds. Irresistible, from Great Dixter plant fair at weekend.

In a rusty old metal plant stand (had since 1980s) a terracotta bowl sits within remnants of a twiggy hanging basket. In the bowl are various succulents. Behind is a wild grassy bank with purple asters

Mauve flowers of Aster - some have yellow centres, some have turned brown. A bee is visiting - s/he is amber/brown almost like the spent flowers.

Grown from seed a couple of years ago, happy that their sturdy stems withstand strong prevailing winds here. A good do-er, very bright in the Summertime 🌞
