Another exciting week as your MP holding the government to account on fair funding for rural communities, action on tackling climate breakdown, cost-of-living and wealth tax measures, and much more!

Extremely useful meeting this morning with cross-party River Wye MPs and campaigners to discuss next steps to tackle pollution. There is so much more that needs to be done, especially considering the disappointing Diffuse Water Pollution Plan published last week. Determined to keep up work on this!

Real action on climate change requires funding, not just rhetoric. The govt must commit to contributing to the Tropical Forest Forever Facility fund and Just Transition Mechanism if we are to address climate breakdown.

Why is Labour restricting scrutiny on the Budget?

Laying a 'Tax Charge' motion exerts undue control over MPs' ability to amend & scrutinise the Budget. Tories started this tactic in 2018 but Labour has a massive majority; why continue a restrictive trend of discouraging debate?

It's absolutely right that policy costs shouldn't be placed on households - but cannibalising the Warm Homes Plan in order to fill this gap won't deliver the long-term energy bill reductions ordinary families really need.

Schemes that help people insulate and upgrade their homes are widely supported because they are a win-win-win: they deliver long-term lower bills, create skilled jobs in the sector, and cut carbon emissions.

A vital part of bringing down household bills is to reduce the energy that needs to be used in the first place.

The Warm Homes Plan is meant to address this, with an earmarked £13billion to fund energy-efficiency and insulation schemes to improve households across the country.

The Chancellor's decision to cut energy bills by raiding the Warm Homes Plan isn't a genuine solution to fuel poverty; it's robbing Peter to pay Paul.

Ridiculous to prioritise short-term headlines at the expense of long-term delivery when costs could be funded by taxing wealth.

The Chancellor explicitly references the negative legacy of Brexit on the UK economy - so why is her govt so opposed to taking steps like joining the customs union or single market with all the economic benefits these would bring? #Budget2025

As the humanitarian crisis in Gaza persists, goods produced in illegal Israeli settlements in the OPT continue to be imported into Britain's markets - proceeds of a crime under international law.

The govt must urgently ban the import of these goods and press for aid to flow into Gaza.

If a just and lasting peace is to be secured, it is Ukrainian voices - not Donald Trump's, not those of Russian aggressors - which need to be front and centre in all discussions on Ukraine's future.

Another busy week holding the government to account and pressing for real action on Gaza & Sudan, pushing for real investment in home insulation and energy efficiency schemes, challenging dangerous rhetoric around asylum, & working to improve adult social care!

Brilliant to spend the day at the Rivers conference in Herefordshire discussing innovative technology and projects combatting pollution, soil loss and more!

Always fantastic to hear about the great work already being done to restore our rivers and discuss what more we need to do!

On #CarersRightsDay I recognised the countless unpaid carers like my constituent, who work tirelessly and prop up the care sector and NHS, yet struggle financially and emotionally without support.

No one should have to choose between providing care and making ends meet.
