BC Business Leaders Fall Silent on Relations with First Nations | The Tyee
Unwarranted panic over court decisions mean Premier David Eby faces lose-lose options in the legislature.
No humiliation is more traumatic for B.C.βs corporate elite than being mocked in international business circles, yet it happened twice in December, both times because of the hot-burning crisis over Indigenous rights in this province and their impact on private property.

The Sunshine Coast Dock War
Meet the waterfront millionaires trying to cancel the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act
This is my favourite essay I've written. About a group of realtors and yachters on the Sunshine Coast who are suing the Province to overturn the Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (DRIPA).

What Happened to the βRule of Lawβ? | The Tyee
It was a common refrain during the Wetβsuwetβen pipeline conflict. But when courts side with First Nations, politicians are more equivocal.
Since 2020, βrule of lawβ became politiciansβ mantra, urging police to shut down #Wetsuweten solidarity blockades.
Fast-forward six years, the line has been abandoned in favour of something suggesting law is not so much a rule but something to be manipulated.
