Maybe define what you mean by ‘it doesn’t work’? Given how widely it has already been adopted, ‘it doesn’t work’ sounds too inaccurate as a claim. Potential risks / harms / limited use cases doesn’t mean it doesn’t work.

Except that AI does works and has already been adopted widely in many industries. Generative AI isn’t everything. It’s a shame that so many people with good intentions have such a limited understanding of technology and somehow aren’t interested in learning more about it.
