I love how this whole chapter is a dream, but it's still pretty damn compelling. Just for the mental images alone, but it's character moments like these that make the book and set it apart from the show that will not be named. Martin characterized a freaking crow!!!!

It's a small comfort to know Lady is resting back home. And Ned will always be my hero for denying Cersei that pelt. Consequences be damned

Honestly, this moment always gets a tear out of me. Not only for Lady's unjust conviction (I'm a dog person) and Sansa's realization, but for Arya's words as well. She's rightfully enraged, but never enough to condemn the direwolf. In this moment, Arya's moral compass is clear and unclouded

The structure shines through again here. We know what happened, but seeing this through Ned's perspective highlights the trust he has in his daughter. Not to mention how spiteful Cersei is and how much a LITTLE SHIT JOFFREY IS BEING

I always forget so many of this chapter's details. The fact that Renly and Barristan are introduced on the way to King's Landing. And the way Sansa names them. It all feels so...medieval and trope-ish (not in a bad way). I blame my forgetfulness on the show that will not be named

Hating Joffrey is my favorite hobby, but the way I read Cersei's line here, knowing how she truly is, boils my blood for some reason
