One of the many things I've done on this trip to London is travel on a few class 458s. Other than the rubbish first class this is a decent refurbishment imo. Turned a commuter train into a solid regional train. I for one think these are the best new standard class train seats in the UK

Sadly the padding is quite thin, almost like EMR's refurbishment ignored 1st class. I also hate leather seats, they get very hot and are quite slippery.

This morning I travelled 1st class with EMR. For an extra ~£20 this ain't too shabby, on par with TPE I'd say. I wonder what the dinner options are like? I wouldn't pay more than £20 for just a bacon butty but maybe would for a full meal

Yesterday was my first time in Glasgow since the Old trains were fully withdrawn, they fit in quite well at the refurbished stations like St Enoch & Govan
Of course they're absolutely fantastic trains, my brother commented on just how nice and smart their interiors are, he seemed to love them :D
