Music Live CAMBRIDGE

Just a quiet mention of a new thing:

musiclivecambridge.com

It's like the Colchester site, but for Cambridge. Early days yet, while I add more and more data, but hopefully it'll be useful to someone.

Anyone out there based around #Cambridge?

To be honest you would resign in shame if you'd be caught red-handed and outed as a Coldplay fan.

Only the women and children are worthy of your mention? Interesting take.

Hi, apologies for slow reply, I only just saw this. Would be great to hear from you. You can message me here or via admin@musiclivecolchester.com. I try to keep things up to date but I'm only human, so reminders are always welcome.

django-vanityurls A Django vanity URLs/internal redirects app

Exciting news (if you don't get out much). Managed to wrestle django-vanityurls into a Version 2.0 release this morning. It's not going to change the world, but it makes my life a little easier:

Revisiting Prolog recently and trying to solve the ST "Safe Cracker" puzzles using it. Reasonable success. I've made a little module with some of the common stuff, plus a few example solutions. Code here:

These things are usually pretty much indestructible. Is it possible that I just rock *too* hard?

They were great. Very traditional compared to when I saw Sam with Seth Lakeman, but really rather beautiful. They seem like nice chaps too.

I made another BlueSky bot. It's a little niche but if you live near the Colne like me it's vaguely relevant. If you have ideas for useful/fun bots you'd like to see, do get in touch.

MusicLiveCOLCHESTER BUZZ May '25 Playlist Β· Threehundredsongs Β· 35 items

Experimenting with whether I can automatically generate coherent Spotify playlists from data I already have in MusicLiveCOLCHESTER. It's getting there.

This one features local artists prioritised by who's playing in town in May, among other factors:

Are all full moons named after classic albums?

Also, follow @moonunit.colchester.social if you'd like to know more. One of my other little projects.

My latest daft project bot. Give it a follow if you're interested in the moon, or just don't get out much. Will be adding various bits and bobs over time.

Will pick it up on my way into work later. Inquisitor is my favourite of all the cryptics. Really proud of you for this! Take care.

Many thanks to @crypticblah.bsky.social and especially @cranberryfez.bsky.social for helping me knock it into shape, and @enigmatistelgar.bsky.social for publishing it

Just putting this out there: I'm after finding a real job. I have decades of experience as a programmer, am a nice chap, and would like to work with Python, Django, ML...etc.

Am on LinkedIn here: www.linkedin.com/in/simon1976/ (although I don't like LinkedIn much). Would be grateful for any help.

Having an argument with an AI bot about where me and my research partner's work was published. You'd think I would know better than a bot but now I just doubt what is truth any more.
