Schedule, that’s rough. I’m not a 5e fan at all, but my bro in law, nephews, and friends invited me to play with them. I like them, so I deal with 5e. I suffered through Pathfinder 1e when I got back into gaming after decades away. I can handle anything. Shame that some people are hard to convert.

Hey, @mattfromtinder.bsky.social, thanks for asking! EB and DCC are definitely very different. EB taught me that there is such a thing as being too rules lite. DCC is familiar grounds for me. It's new to the players though, so it's a bit of a learning curve. They're 5e peoples. 😬

Tonight's the night! We return to my campaign after nearly a three-month hiatus. We're switching from Roll20 to Foundry and Electric Bastionland to DCC. So many failure points! Wish me luck!

Hey, @corvuscarpus.bsky.social! I'm not the most experienced of DM's, but I definitely prefer it to being a player. I grew up DMing AD&D (1e). I ran a DCC one-shot, and that was cool. Then, I started a campaign in Electric Bastionland thinking it would be easy. It wasn't!

@unclefes.bsky.social, that's definitely fair. As the saying goes, "If you're not paying, then you're the product." Like you, I've been kicking around online for a long time, and I miss the sweet spot prior to the rise of social media when forums were where people communicated.

So, I'm trying to ignore the reality of 2025. Instead, I'm thinking of planning a trip to see a dear friend in Northern Ireland early this summer.

@smako.bsky.social, I definitely think I plan too much, but at the same time I can find myself going totally blank at the table. It doesn't help that my campaign has a lot of mystery and lore going on. I think I just need to focus on what's happening in the moment and let the rest go.

@coral-wave.bsky.social, Obsidian looks great, and it's cool that you can export everything easily. Despite the fact that I use Notion as a place to save odds and ends, I can't wrap my head around it as a campaign manager. Check Kanka out. I like it enough to throw them a few $$ every month.
