I've been running a 4070 and CachyOS very successfully for a while now. Seems fine to me, of course that is anecdotal but worth a shot if you're dual booting anyway. No real loss if you try it out.

Grab the live iso file from Linux Mint and write it to a USB file. Plenty of tutorials out there. Reboot your computer to boot off the USB drive and take it for a spin. That will give you an idea of what it's like. You can do that with a lot of Linux distributions to get a feel for it.
