His humor often reminds me so much of yours, and his more autistic traits echo yours too. He's growing into one of the finest young men l've had the privilege of knowing, let alone being his mum.
I love you, Dad. I miss you 4/4

wish you could have met my wife and seen us wed. You would have loved her beautiful intellect and ridiculous humor. And I wish you could see my son and how much he's thriving now.3/4

I'm so glad I got to come out to you before you left, even if it took me almost a year afterward to fully process it and accept myself. 2/4

Dad, we're fast approaching another Father's Day since you passed. I really wish you could see me now. I wish you could see how much more I'm truly myself, and despite any difficulties, how much more secure I am within myself. 1/4

Managing ADHD is a constant process, but with the right balance, you can achieve incredible things.

For anyone with ADHD, growth in any field is about finding what works for youβ€”embracing your unique strengths, being kind to yourself in moments of struggle, and creating systems that help you thrive.

We each have different strengths, challenges, and ways of working. What works for me might not work for someone else, and that’s okay. ADHD isn’t one-size-fits-all.

This rhythm keeps me engaged while building a foundation for long-term growth. It’s not about β€œfixing” my ADHDβ€”it’s about learning to work with my brain, not against it. This is my personal journey with ADHD, but no two ADHD brains are the same.

struggle. One of the ways I’ve managed this balance is by alternating between tasks that excite me and ones that ground me. Whether I’m diving into a complex challenge or reviewing the basics, I approach each step with an understanding of what my brain needs in that moment.

Without them, I run the risk of my brain speeding ahead, jumping between ideas without structure, or burning out from chasing too much stimulation. It’s a constant balance of managing my symptomsβ€”channeling the strengths that come with my ADHD while finding strategies to support the areas where I

But I’ve also realized that to truly succeed, I need to consistently reinforce the basics, even when they don’t feel exciting. Foundations are what allow creativity to flourish..

For me, thriving with ADHD means embracing creativity while staying mindful of the need for consistency. I love diving into complex, imaginative tasks that challenge my brain. These kinds of projects allow me to express myself fully and feel deeply engaged.

While this can make focusing on details and long-term goals challenging, it often comes with a unique ability to think creatively, solve problems innovatively, and approach challenges from unexpected angles. ADHD brains may not always follow traditonal paths, but they often excel at forging new ones

The rush of novelty provides a dopamine boost that feels incredibleβ€”but this also means sticking with routine or repetitive tasks can be much harder. Additionally, ADHD impacts executive functioning, which includes planning, prioritization, and time management.

ADHD brains work differently. Studies show that ADHD is linked to lower levels of dopamine, the neurotransmitter responsible for motivation and reward. This can lead to a constant search for activities that feel exciting or rewarding, like starting new projects or diving into creative challenges..

As someone with ADHD, I’ve learned that achieving and learning in any field requires a delicate balance between creativity, consistency, and symptom management. For me, this means working on projects or tasks that light up my imagination while also grounding myself with the fundamentals.

Took my son for his ADHD appointment and was asked who I was cause the notes say Dad should be with him. So cue conversation about being his parent and what my legal name is. Thankfully nurse was awesome and changed all details on the system appropriately.
