It is not the job of the news to train you on relative probabilities. Information like that is available and any person can seek it out any time they like. That's why other things, that are not "the news", like "Our World In Data" exist. I would have thought you knew this.

This is an absolutely ridiculous critique. Literally no one wants the news to be some regurgitation of things that regularly happen: e.g. "School Bus Broke Down, Kids Got Home a Little Late". The news exists for NEWSWORTHY THINGS. I'm sorry this makes you mad.
