Lost elf child is wandering around the feed.

“Hm…” the child considered this, frowning and chewing on his finger.

“…I guess that’s true.” a pause, “So when are we going to go on the adventure?”

”I like my doll.” Thistle cuddled his doll.

“No. I don’t like pranks. I think I was rude or something but I don’t remember. I’m still rude so it didn’t even work. You can reform bad people instead of just executing them?!”

The little elf child was putting pins into his ragdoll’s eyes.

“That sounds fun!”

“Oh, so it’s just a way of cooking it? I’ve never seen a rice cake before.”

“Why are they pounding the rice cakes?“

“What?! There’s rabbits on the moon?!”

So you free the nice ones and imprison all the bad ones?”

“Oh. Well, when I was naughty the servants used to hit me with a stick until my butt hurt when I sat down, but King Freinag didn’t like me being sad so he told them to stop that.

“Whaaat? She doesn’t even want to see her son? That’s so odd! She is strange and also stupid. +

who are you when you aren't owned and exploited? who will still want when you have nothing left to give?

The elf child was putting pins into his ragdoll’s eyes, humming a lullaby to himself.

He is traumatised due to being human trafficked when he was very young and the inherent trauma of being a slave even though he is treated ‘kindly’ and insists he is happy (he’s actually anxious with debilitating abandonment issues most of the time and has nightmares almost every night)

“Eugh. Gross and smelly.” >:P

“Well, of course she wouldn’t hit you herself unless she likes it. That’s a servant’s job. oh. I guess she keeps you alive to be an heir and can’t make more babies for some reason. Huh? Everyone treated equally? So even servants and slaves would be treated like how the nobles are?”

…He really had a warped view of what kindness was.

Unfortunately Thistle’s idea of abuse was ‘beats you up until you almost die or your bones break‘ and anything less than that seemed totally normal to him, given he was a medieval slave.

“What? You only got locked in your room? You didn’t even get beaten? Even Delgal gets beaten sometimes

“I don’t see why that disproves my point.” he crossed his arms, “It only proves it further! When skilled swordsmen can still die in battle and the best sword-swallowers can still cut their guts open, then it’s even stupider to mess with weapons you don’t know how to use!” +

“I have no money but can I look anyway? I won’t steal because I hate thieves.”

”But it is stupid to wave around random weapons! If you don’t know how to use it then you could hurt yourself or someone else!”

“Then /you’re/ stupid.” he declared, not really thinking about how harsh and rude that sounded.

“Hmph. I’m not /stupid./ I don’t play with weapons.” he crossed his arms.

“I really don’t like this outfit but King Freinag said I have to wear it so people laugh at me.” :( He looked the same as the image but with his short hair.
