31.12.2024 11:41 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This poem, entitled 'Needles' is presented in the form of a Christmas tree. These words form the shape of the tree: I wrote a poem in the shape of a Christmas tree but then forgot to water it and only a few days later there And these words are distributed around the base of my poem 'tree' as if they've fallen off it: were words all over the carpet
Todayβs poem is called βNeedlesβ.

Ada Y7: βPoetry matters because itβs a way of being heard.β
Elliot Y7: βPoetry is a meaningful piece of artwork.β
Lesson 1 on poetry in Y7 before any input from me:
What is poetry?
Leo Y7: βPoetry is a way to express thoughts to help people deeply think about someoneβs problems.β
Why does poetry matter?
Leo Y7: βFor some people, poetry really helps with mental health because it calms them down.β

You can read our final report ('We Need to Talk') here: tinyurl.com/yr9pp9af
And there are dozens of podcast conversations exploring #oracy in its many forms: open.spotify.com/show/5UwEJKk...
This definitely bears a repeat posting! Anyone who is interested in oracy, dialogic learningβ¦or just great learning in English should take a look! englishandmedia.co.uk/blog/learnin...
